The new FTDI drivers tend to do that to certain clone chips. Easy to reflash back though. Works fine on my windows 10 32 bit. Make sure your are disabling all firewalls and running everything as administrator. I'll have to double check all that.

I've determined that after uninstalling the device, unplugging the adapter, and plugging the adapter back in, the drivers are not installing at all, even though the BMW Scanner software says that they are installed. I think the software is just seeing that the drivers are on my computer, but I cannot install them on the "BMW Scanner V14x" device.
